CLAN OVERVIEW

Situated between the Mirrorlight Promenade and the Hewn City, the Solux Enclave rests deep in a redwood forest at the mouth of a large river. The Solux Enclave is led by King Osiris and Queen Mandisa, and is a relatively small clan composed of mostly scholars, miners, and blacksmiths.The Solux Enclave has entered into a partnership with the Vesperian Empire, granting the Enclave military protection from the Empire in exchange for the Empire's acquisition of the Enclave's territory in the Lightweaver's domain. The two entities freely trade services and commodities without any import or export taxes and restrictions that would normally be implemented. As a result, King Osiris' power is now an extention of Empress Luthien's.

The Enclave's primary resource (and most prized and sought after export) is the Solux Crystal, a rare form of Crystalpine that resulted from a mutation when Arcane Crystalpine's properties combined with the natural energies and minerals in the earth in the mine they were placed in. Originally, the Crystalpine was transplanted by scientists from the Vesperian Empire, under the Solux Enclave's supervision. The Solux Crystal gives off its own strange light, and seems almost alive, as small gold particles of light dance around underneath the surface of each cut gem. The Crystal possesses peculiar characteristics that allow it to be enchanted and attached to masterwork weapons, armor, and jewelry in order to give them special properties that the typical enchantment process cannot achieve.

CLAN MEMBERS

Osiris is the Lord of the Solux Enclave, and rules over his territory as an extension of Empress Luthien's royal court. It is this alliance that has granted Osiris his official noble title, and he is the first of his line. He had originally founded the clan and began gathering orphans and wayward souls to his domain, giving them shelter and food in exchange for their works.

 Osiris is known for his benevolence and generally positive outlook, though when asked, most of his citizens know very little about their king. He was born a Skydancer, to a Skydancer mother and a Nocturne father. The two were exalted when Osiris was still a nameless hatchling, and he was sent to live among the countless other abandoned hatchlings in Lightweaver's domain. Thus he had to learn very quickly how to set himself apart from his peers in order to afford himself finer comforts and better opportunities for his future. He held careful balance between interacting with dragons his own age, and learning everything he could from his elders and caretakers. One in particular, who took note of Osiris' shrewdness, decided to privately 'tutor' Osiris after dark, unbeknownst to the other elders and orphans...

OSIRIS

Mandisa is Osiris' mate, and co-ruler of the Enclave. She was a scholar from the Beacon of the Radiant Eye who lost her way home from an expedition to the border of Shadow territory. Her wandering led her to the mine where Solux Crystal is grown and harvested, and although she was fascinated by a seemingly new discovery, her fatigue consumed her and she collapsed in one of the mature cluster areas. When she was found by a group of miners, she was taken immediately to the lair to be treated. 

Osiris in particular took a liking to her bright and cheerful personality, and it seemed that she had grown fond of him during her recovery period. Mandisa eventually decided to stay with the Enclave, and focused her studies on the Solux Crystal formations. 

MANDISA
VITALIS

Vitalis is Osiris' steward, and oversees daily operations within the clan, and is charged with care taking it in Osiris' absence. He is a silent giant, never speaking out of turn and always seeming very thoughtful. He is not the most skilled warrior, but his sheer size does give him an upper hand when brute force is needed to settle an argument.

He never complains, and takes his job very seriously. He was one of the most promising orphans under Osiris' care, and is considered family in all but legal title. Osiris trusts that if anything were ever to happen to him and his heirs, Vitalis would carry the torch with honor and respect.

Ull is Osiris' personal guard. He is a jolly dragon, always providing a laugh or story when asked of him in social settings. His carefree attitude was refreshing to Osiris, and it is what set Ull above all the other available warriors in the Enclave and landed him in such a high position. That is not to say that Ull isn't an accomplished warrior. He is, in fact, one of the fiercest and deadliest dragons in the realm. 

ULL

Adonis is Osiris' advisor and aids in administrative management of the Enclave. He is very prim and feminine, and cares far more about the state of his appearance than he does his feats of strength and ferocity. He has a love of nature, and often adorns himself in fragrant flowers and perfumes. This sometimes attracts birds and butterflies, though he doesn't seem to mind their company. 

ADONIS

Nora has an abrasive personality, placing higher priority on her magical skill and perfecting it, than in cultivating new relationships. To outsiders, she seems indifferent and cold, though the very few dragons who do know her say she is truly good at heart. Her closest friend is her twin sister, Iris. The two grew up together on one of the northern islands of the Southern Icefield, directly against Arcane's borders. The twins' magic is a strange amalgamation of Ice and Arcane; Nora's being more offensive magic.

NORA
IRIS

A delicate and demure dragon, Iris is much more personable to strangers than her twin sister, Nora. Iris' magic is a majority of enchantments and buffs, and she dabbles in rune reading. Many diviners tend to scoff at the ancient art of rune reading, but Iris insists it is still the most reliable and straightforward way to predict possible futures. 

One of the elder dragons in the Enclave, Fadil is a renknown coliseum champion. He is not boastful, and tends to be reserved in nature; preferring the company of his books in the comfort of his elegant and elaborately decorated study. He is often the subject of many other's unrequited affection.

Known Solux Crystal Types

(Any)

Blight Crystal - This crystal inflicts blight and pestilence on sentient plantlife, and causes festering and lingering wounds that require far more care than basic healing can mend

Bloody Mercy Crystal- This wapon crystal does nonlethal damage, but gives the illusion of dealing lethal wounds

​

Crystal of Foefinding- A weapon crystal; this item allows weapon users to effectively use ranged weapons without too much training

​

Crystal of Mastery - A weapon crystal that, when attached, enables the user to become an expert in its use

​

Crystal of Return - A weapon crystal that allows the user to throw their weapon and have it immediately teleport back when summoned 

​

Crystal of Venom - A crystal that imbues a weapon with poison; simply touching it makes you feel ill

 

Reaving Crystal - A crystal that strips enemies of magical immunities

​

Stabilizing Crystal - A crystal used to immobilize a moving object or life form 

​

Sureshot Crystal - A crystal that can only be applied to ranged weapons. Increases precision.

​

Trueform Crystal - A crystal that forces shapeshifters to turn to their rightful shape, or allows a user to protect themselves from being transformed against their will. This type of crystal can be fitted to weapons and armor, but research has not yielded consistent results.

​

Witchslayer Crystal - A crystal that strips spellcasters of their abilities

​

Crystal of Resistance - A crystal that grants its bearer resistance to a specific type of energy, determined at time of enchantment.

​

​

Each crystal requires the presence of one or two particular elemental master/mages to cast the enchantment. See icons above.
